Welcome to the Animal Health and Welfare website

Welcome to the Animal Health and Welfare website. We aim to promote awareness of Animal Health and Welfare and provide you with the very latest information and links regarding the matter. We as a species have a duty of care to all other animals, even those who are not any particular use to us.

Yet even those animals which perform invaluable functions for us or provide us with important materials, are often not given appropriate shelter, food, hygiene and medical care. Such beloved creatures are often overworked for financial gain, exploited and mistreated. Too many people wouldn’t think twice about killing an animal for their own amusement or sport. Although there are a range of attitudes toward the matter, what cannot be argued is that animal welfare must be maintained for the sake of nature’s food chain, and for the balance of the natural ecological system. Animals are a critical part of our environment and our world.

Animals share the earth with us, and have as much right to it as we do. They have a right to live, but more than that, it is our responsibility to look after them, because of our greater ability and powers. Animal welfare is a human concern, and not just a matter for law makers and corporations, but for every individual. It is a crime to mistreat an animal in most countries, but this needs to be enforced, not just governments, but by our own internal moral compasses. We would be glad to hear your thoughts and feedback regarding Animal Health and Welfare.
